G&M: Tory MP's Former Employer Targeted By CRA Over Swiss Tax Shelters
While working as a banker more than 15 years ago, Conservative MP Andrew
Saxton approved the transfer of hundreds of thousands of dollars to a
Swiss bank account that a married couple is alleged to have used to hide
income from tax collectors, a recent Federal Court document shows.
Mr. Saxton has not been accused of any wrongdoing and nothing in the filing indicates that the MP for North Vancouver, 29 at the time, knew the account was part of an alleged elaborate scheme to disguise, and avoid declaring, investment income.
