Reuters: French Government Calls For Calm Amid Oil And Rail Protests
France's government
called for calm on Wednesday as an oil sector strike partly shut down
refineries, but there were growing signs a rail walkout was running out
of steam.
Transport Secretary Dominique Bussereau assured French motorists there was no prospect of fuel shortages as workers blockaded some major fuel depots and reduced output at all but one of France's 12 refineries.
