Most Canadians see Question Period in the House of Commons as little more than an excuse for "grandstanding" and "cheap" politics, according to a new poll.

The Pollara poll, released on Wednesday by the Public Policy Forum just as MPs are preparing to return to work in Ottawa, shows also that most Canadians "think less of our system of government" when they see scenes of the daily sparring match in Parliament.
