Inflation Rose 1.7% In August
Inflation rose 1.7% in the year from August 2009 to August 2010 after July's rise of 1.8%.
Energy prices led the way with electricity up 7.7% from August to August and oil prices up 5% in the same time. Seven of the eight CPI categories rose for the month, with only clothing and footwear being lower. In fact, the same pattern held for all of the Canadian provinces.
