G&M: British, Canadian Troops May Have Smuggled Afghan Heroin
Military police in Britain are
investigating reports that British and Canadian troops smuggled heroin
out of Afghanistan, according to British media reports.
"We are aware of these allegations," a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Defence told the Sunday Times. "Although they are unsubstantiated, we take any such reports very seriously and we have already tightened our existing procedures both in Afghanistan and in the UK, including through increasing the use of trained sniffer dogs."
