In what was being dubbed as perhaps the real World Cup final between world number one powerhouse Brazil and always decent Netherlands, the Dutch team edged out Brazil 2 to 1. 

Brazil dominated the first half of play taking the early lead in the 10th minute with a goal by Robinho, but Felipe Melo in the 53rd minute headed a ball into his own net tying the game at one each.  Then Wesley Sneijder scored for the Netherlands in 68th minute, in what turned out to be the winning goal to put the Netherlands up 2 to 1 and gain them entry into the final four.

It was a contentious and hard fought game with Brazil getting frustrated and losing Melo to a red card in the last 20 minutes of the game, making it nearly impossible for them to come back.  Brazil was just stunned by the loss, but the Dutch are obviously riding high.
