Federal politicians have bowed to public pressure in their lengthy standoff with Sheila Fraser and will allow the Auditor General to determine if the rules governing their expenditures are both adequate and being followed.

Members of Parliament announced Tuesday that Ms. Fraser will be invited to examine the financial practices of the House of Commons administration.
