as the country's military pushes for an end to anti-government protests
that have paralyzed Bangkok for weeks.
Thai troops used bullets and tear gas to dispel protesters from the nearby U.S. and Japanese embassies Friday in some of the most intense conflicts yet. Violence surrounding the protests has ratcheted up in the past 48 hours with three people killed and 69 others wounded.
