TS: Smoking Ban Cuts Hospital Admissions
Hospitalization for heart attacks, strokes and respiratory diseases has
decreased significantly in Toronto since the city banned smoking in bars
and restaurants, according to a study.
"It confirms that public policy can make a difference," said Dr. Alisa Naiman, lead author of the study published Monday in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.
