In a bizarre move, and even more bizarre explanation, Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon said that Canada's plan for the G8 to help developing nations and poor people would not include contraception. 

Cannon said of contraception, "It does not deal in any way, shape or form with family planning. Indeed, the purpose of this is to be able to save lives."

Can anyone else find the logic behind this statement?
