GDP Up 0.6 Percent
For the fifth straight month the Canadian economy grew, with January's numbers coming in at 0.6% growth for the month. Goods producing industries for the manufacturing and construction industries led the way with 1.3% growth, followed by the mining and oil industries with a 0.9% increase, and services increased by 0.4%. Other industries that fell in growth were real estate agents and brokers -6.7%, as well as the forestry and agriculture industries.
