NYT: On Health Bill, G.O.P.'s Road Is A New Map
It's not clear yet whether or not the Republicans will accept the President's invitation for a nationally broadcast debate on the two parties healthcare proposals, but if they do it will be a very different approach to the same problem.
The Republican plan is still being fleshed out, as ideas pop up from various members of congress with little meat, but they are beginning to put something together. Generally speaking whatever plan they decide to offer, it won't cover anywhere close to the 30 million the Democratic plan does and relies heavily on tax incentives to states who meet certain criteria.
The CBO hasn't scored much of what the GOP is proposing so we won't know if it will curb the costs of healthcare for the federal and the 50 state governments before Medicare and Medicaid go bankrupt.
