Yet Another Reason Why Religion Ruins Everything

As a bit of background on "The Family," or the Fellowship as they as called, they are a Christian fundamentalist religious organization founded back in the 1930's with membership that includes many high ranking US government officials, business executives, foreign leaders, diplomats, humanitarian organizations, and other heads of religious organizations. Take a listen to Rachel Maddow's description of them here:

Do you have an idea what the Fellowship is all about? Now take a minute or two and take a look at the connection between this secretive Christian religious organization and Uganada and the anti-gay legislation, which calls for the death of homosexuals, moving through its Parliament:

Do you see the problem now? A religious organization influencing the legislative process of countries around the world in the most insane and heinous of ways. Is there still any doubt in anyone's mind that religion in general is a destructive and negative force in the world? The culture wars that began in the early 1990's were lost by the religious right through a series of scandals in the United States, but there are still a huge number of fundamentalist Christians in the country and around the world who continue to corrupt everything they get involved with.
Personally I have no problem with whatever faith an individual holds, however when I listened to Brit Hume on Fox News on Sunday proselytize, asking Tiger Woods to give up Buddhism and embrace Jesus and the Christian faith to receive forgiveness for his extra marital affairs, it was once again another negative sign for religion. Obviously Brit Hume throwing his credibility as a pseudo journalist out the window is nothing in comparison to the future state sanctioned murder of gay people in Uganda, it's just another manifestation of the same delusions stemming from religious beliefs. There is a good reason for the separation of church and state and if there ever was an example of the threat religion poses to peace and a better future, this is it.
