Reuters: Shots Fired At Iran Opposition Leader Karoubi
Mehdi Karoubi, who ran in last June's Presidential election in Iran and lost to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in what was disputed as rigged, was fired upon by unknown gunmen while in his car. The attack occurred in the city of city of Ghazvin, 124 km (70 miles) west of Tehran, but there was no mention of the incident by the state run media.
"While leaving Nasi Ghavami's home the plainclothes men attacked his car with eggs and bricks as well as firing two shots which hit the car," Karoubi's son Hossein was quoted as saying.
