Yemeni officials are saying that the failed Christmas day plane bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, was recruited by al Qaeda in London while he was attending University College, before he moved to study in Yemen.  Rshad al-Alimi, Yemen's Deputy Prime Minister for Defence and Security, added that Abdulmutallab met with Anwar al-Awlaki, the Muslim preacher connected to the Fort Hood shooter, during his time in Yemen.
