James Cameron has outdone himself today as his film Avatar has broken the international release record currently held by his other movie Titanic, with an estimated sales surpassing Titanic's mark of $1.242 billion in 6 weeks, coming in at $1.288 billion with more to come.  The current domestic champ is still Titanic at $601, but Avatar has racked up a gross of $552.8 million so far and is probably bound to break that record too.
