President Obama Remarks On Intelligence & Security Meeting
President Obama reiterated his pledge to disrupt, dismantle, and defeat terrorist cells while commenting on the highly anticipated intelligence and security meeting he announce last week. The President said that the system failed. He said that it was not a failure to collect evidence, because intelligence operatives already had all of the information necessary to add the foiled bomber of Northwestern flight 253 to the no fly list. Rather, it was a failure, not only to analyze the information and connect the dots, but a failure of intelligence organizations to share what information they had.
The President said that each organization had taken responsibility for their mistakes and that he expects the intelligence community will be able to fix what went wrong.
