President Addresses Haiti Quake Again
President Obama announced this morning an immediate release of $100 million to help with the recovery process in Haiti, with the prospect of more in the near future, and he also ordered the heads of several U.S. agencies to coordinate with Haitian officials to help speed the process. Furthermore, he ordered 3500 Armed Forces on the disaster relief team to be sent to the Caribbean nation with the first 100 to arrive today and then took the time to speak directly to the Haitian people, assuring them that the largest relief effort in recent memory is on the way.
This is the second time in two days the President has commented on Haiti, making it obvious that this terrible event is extremely important to the administration.
