Commissioner David Stern has decided to suspend Gilbert Arenas indefinitely and perhaps worse for an incident in which he and a team mate pulled guns on each other over a gambling debt in the Washington Wizard's locker room.

The commissioner's statement read in part, "Although it is clear that the actions of Mr. Arenas will ultimately result in a substantial suspension, and perhaps worse, his ongoing conduct has led me to conclude that he is not currently fit to take the court in a NBA game.  Accordingly, I am suspending Mr. Arenas indefinitely, without pay, effective immediately pending the completion of the investigation by the NBA."

Some are suggesting that this could be a good thing for Gilbert Arenas to get him away from the spot light and focus on pulling his life together and perhaps avoiding federal weapons charges.
