Jobs Remain Steady In December

Stats Canada just released the December jobs report and the numbers remained unchanged at 8.5% unemployment across the nation.  The report says that jobless claims have stabilized , but jobless numbers are still 323,000 below the October 2008 peak.  The greatest gains in jobs throughout December was in health care and social assistance, as well as in professional, scientific and technical services and the greatest loses in jobs came from transportation and warehousing; business, building and other support services; and public administration.
