CBC: Haiti Talks In Montreal Focus On Rebuilding
Haitian Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive arrived in Montreal yesterday for international talks being held in Montreal on how to proceed in rebuilding Haiti after the devastating 7.0 earthquake which struck near the capitol of Port-au-Prince 12 days ago. The most recent estimate on the loss of life is in the neighbourhood of 150,000 people, but that can't be confirmed . According the the CBC organizations that will be participating are Haiti, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, France, Mexico, Peru, United States, Uruguay, Japan, Spain, European Union, Dominican Republic, and international
organizations like the United Nations, World Bank, International Monetary Fund,
Caribbean Development Bank, Organization of American States, CARICOM,
International Monetary Fund, Inter-American Development Bank.
