Axelrod, Gibbs, and McConnell Speak On The Future Of Healthcare

David Axelrod and Robert Gibbs appeared on The Daily Rundown this morning to answer questions on the future of the President's agenda after the Democrats lost the Massachusetts Senate race to Republican Scott Brown.  Following them was Senate Republican minority leader Mitch McConnell who answered similar questions about healthcare and the effects of a Scott Brown Massachusetts win on the Obama agenda.

The first question asked was who was to blame for the loss in Massachusetts and David Axelrod said that he wasn't interested in playing the blame game, but recognized that people are upset and concerned over jobs and the economy and that it was the Presidents primary focus.  When asked if the election of Scott Brown was a rebuke of the Healthcare plan, Axelrod said that while it was perhaps only a part of the overall discontent people have for the current economic situation.

Mitch McConnell was asked if the election of Scott Brown was a rebuke of the President's healthcare initiative and he said it most definitely was a vote against healthcare, and said it would be wise to scrap the plan and start over with a bi-partisan effort.  When asked if Republicans would meet the President in the middle McConnell sidestepped the question.
