Richard Engel, NBC News' chief foreign correspondent, obtained documents prepared for the Pentagon by an independent organization which finds that the time line laid out by the President for training Afghan security forces is not possible.  The report says that while Afghan soldiers below the company level are fighting, their superiors have been undermined by nepotism and corruption and don't believe they are at war.  Although the report is not yet completed, its current incarnation could be deeply troubling not only politically, but also for the chances of success in the region.
