A police officer in Ottawa was stabbed and killed while inside the civic campus of the Ottawa hospital inside the emergency room early this morning around 4:30AM. 

No more details have been released as of yet.

UPDATE:  Police have a man in custody who is not yet named and the deceased police officer's identity will not be released until after his family is notified.

UPDATE #2: An ex-Mountie by the name of Kevin Gregson, who was discharged in 2007 after threatening a Mormon church official in Regina, was arrested at the scene of the stabbing.  Read the whole CBC article here.
