Canadian health officials called a press conference for an update on the course of the H1N1 pandemic in Canada.  Among other points, they confirmed that this disease was a younger persons disease and that they were seeing higher numbers of young adults on ventilators and as many as three times the number of people needing a ventilator during the 2007/8 flu season.

Fully one-third of Canadians have now been protected, but they also urged those Canadians who have not received their immunization to please do so for the sake of those around them.
