The CBC is reporting that Stanley Tippett was convicted today of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl in Peterborough, Ontario, in 2008. 

The girl was abducted after leaving a birthday party in August 2008 with 2 other friends and was last seen getting into a red van.  Tippet was then said to have brought the girl to a high school 75 kilometres away in Courtice where he left her half naked after assaulting her.
