60 Hostages Taken In Philippines
Coming two weeks after 57 people were murdered as they were travelling as a part of an election convoy, government armed militias have taken 60 hostages and are using them as human shields as police and military units chase them.
Originally the militia men took 75 hostages including women and children from San Martin in Agusan del Sur province and the local village school, but later released 15 students after negotiations with authorities.
