WaPo: Support for legalizing marijuana grows rapidly around U.S.
(Washington Post) - The same day they rejected a gay marriage ballot measure, residents of Maine voted overwhelmingly to allow the sale of medical marijuana over the counter at state-licensed dispensaries.

It's a long time coming...and I think by the time Obama is out of office we will see legal pot. He's not stupid and is facing huge deficits. Legalize it completely and tax it would make and save the government huge amounts of money. Honestly I have smoked pot most of my life now :) Lot less these days but I still enjoy it....
Used responsibly, it is far less problem to society than alcohol. I would be more than happy to pay Uncle Sam his cut and hopefully get more affordable smoke out of the deal :)
Anyone who wants to get pot can get it these days, legally or not.....it's really not hard to find. Just expensive because of it's illegality. Even in states with medical laws, until Obama the Feds were enforcing drug laws. Thankfully he's told em to back off :)
Bottom line to me, I honestly think it could make a significant difference to the budgets of both state and federal agencies if pot were legal and taxed. And significantly take down a source of the drug cartels money base......hence less crime and smuggling. Sounds like that's a win for Homeland Security :)
And yea..... I kinda like that we have a president who admits he inhaled and enjoyed it. I feel that I finally have a president of my generation.
I really wish the government bean counters would just tell em they need to do this to balance the budget :)
